Where are Flame Arresters used?
A Flame Arrestor is a device fitted to the opening of an enclosure or to the connecting pipework in a procedure of enclosures and which allows gases, liquids, etc. to pass through it but prevents the transmission of a flame in order to prevent a larger fire or explosion. All flame arresters have the same functional principle: removing heat from the flame as it attempts to transit through narrow paths with walls of metal or other heat-conductive material. The main objective of a flame arrestor is to control a larger fire or explosion or can be said to stop fuel combustion by extinguishing the flame. A typical flame arrestor is a bundle of small tubes, that achieves the essential venting capability but prevents that passage of flame. Applications of Flame Arrester On the vent of fuel storage tanks On the pipeline of fuel gas On the Safety storage cabinets for paint, aerosol cans, and other flammable mixtures On the exhaust system of internal combustion engines Portable plastic gaso
